ahh... fresh vintage

As I have said before, anything vintage is my favourite! This new Sale-A-Bration stamp set
called Fresh Vintage, is one I had to add to my collection. This designer series paper Everyday
Enchantment, coordinates with the stamp set - can you stand it!! And all of my new favorite ink
colours are featured in the paper as well - Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade.
This beautifully designed card is one I spotted by Krista Fenton. I did not take the challenge and
try to punch out my stamped images with the Blossom Bouquet triple layer punch.
What I found easier was to first punch out the blossoms, then with my handy stamp-a-ma-jig tool
stamped my image onto each blossom. I also chose to use the greeting from another one of my
go to sets, On Your Birthday.
Notice the new Framelit? LOVE the Labels Collection (from the Occasions mini catalogue).
I have tried a brand similar to these and found them hard to use. These are a snap, no learning curve required.

Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and colour to your cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. To create a row of holes with the Spiral punch:
1. Insert paper into punch, so that corner of paper is positioned in L-shaped tip
2. Press down firmly on punch to create set of holes.
3. Re-position punch, so that end of L-shaped tip sits in notch of left hole.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all holes have been punched.

vintage sunflower

I'm back using the Sunflower background stamp again and still loving it! I stamped the
sunflower with Early Espresso Classic Ink onto the piece of Beau Chateau Designer
Series paper that has the chicken wire image. Next, I placed a piece of Pink Pirouette cardstock
inside the Stripes embossing folder and ran it through my Big Shot to create the wonderful
background. Both layers were then adhered to the Early Espresso card base.
With Early Espresso Seam Binding Ribbon , I used the "ruffle" technique to add some interest.
I stamped the greeting from Kindness Matters onto Very Vanilla cardstock and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch. Next I used the Scallop Oval Punch with the Early Espresso cardstock to create a layer for the greeting. ( To make more of a statement I popped up the greeting with Dimensionals on top of the scalloped layer.)
I felt this card still needed something, so I added one of the Naturals buttons threaded with
a strip of Early Espresso cardstock. Love it!

kindness matters

Kindness Matters is a five piece stamp set that is reasonably priced and attractive. It pairs
beautifully with the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper.
I began this card with stamping the butterflies in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink on
Soft Suede cardstock , then distressed a 2" strip of the Beau Chateau paper by
tearing both edges and adhered to the card front. My next layer is a small background
stamp from the Clearly For You stamp set, stamped in Chocolate Chip. Beautiful
Butterflies is a lovely Bigz Die that I used to cut out the Marina Mist butterfly. To add
some definition I popped it up with a few Dimensionals, after tying some Linen Thread
around it's centre. The greeting is from Kindness Matters, stamped in Soft Suede and
Marina Mist. The Antique Brad grounds the many pieces on this card quite nicely.
Last, the tiny flower is actually punched from the Boho Blossom punch, and a 3/16" brad
added to the centre.

I cased this idea from Stampin' Success magazine, a publication that Stampin' Up!
demonstrators receive monthly.
The colours are SO soft and feminine - I would love to paint my living room this combination!
The card begins with Crumb Cake cardstock as a base. Next I added a piece of Designer Series
Paper from the Beau Chateau collection. The ruffle is created using Crumb Cake
Seam Binding Ribbon - love ruffles! I then stamped the images with Marina Mist and Old Olive
Classic inks, then added some softness with a sponge and Crumb Cake ink along the edges.
The Scallop Border Punch adds interest, and allows for the card base colour to show through.
Last, a greeting from the same set punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

last days of summer

Technically fall begins on Friday, but today still feels like summer here on the west coast!
I love this new background stamp from Stampin' Up! called, Sunflower! There are so
many ways to create different looks with this stamp depending on the products used.
Here I used Stampin' Write markers in Daffodil Delight, and Early Espresso. Just colour
directly onto the rubber, huff and stamp! I then trimmed the image to the desired size
which is 3" x 3". I then layered it onto Crumb Cake, then Early Chocolate Chip and finally onto
Daffodil Delight which I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder then cut
with the Sizzix Scallop Square die using the Big Shot die cut machine.
My card base is Early Espresso cardstock, and the bit of embellishment is Linen Thread which
gives that "naturals" finish to the card.

** huff - to huff or breath heavily onto the stamp after adding marker colour to reactivate
the ink. Markers dry quickly, hence the need to huff on the surface to re-activate the ink.

Stampin' Up! Triple Layer punches are amazing and easy to use.
I chose the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch to create this card. The possibilities are
endless as you can mix up the colour combination over and over with the layered blossoms.

milk carton party favour

I recently purchased the Sizzix Mini Milk Carton die, and decided to use it to make up
some party favours. Is it ever the cutest thing in the world?
I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the box when assembled - perfect for some jelly beans
or a couple of larger candies.
And of course I had to have the coordinating stamp set Got Treats, to stamp up the directions
to open the container - oh my, sooooo cute! I will post a photo of the front of the carton later so
that you can see how wonderful it is.
The Designer Series paper is Big Top Birthday. The pinwheel stamp is from Sweet For The Sweets
set. These were a big hit at the party, and I'm looking forward to making some for perhaps Halloween.....

I spotted a card similar to this, but changed it up a bit to suit my materials I had on hand in my
craft room. I love the new Textured Impressions embossing folder, Stripes from the
new Idea Book & Catalogue - the embossing folders are an easy way to create an
interesting background to your project - and they are affordable as well. I've also used the
Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder with the Real Red cardstock layer - you can't have too many
folders, and it's totally OK to use more than one at a time!
The adorable Designer Series paper is Big Top Birthday, which I used to create this card,
party favors and decorations for the party - VERY partyish!
The candy stamp is from Sweet For The Sweets stamp set. Another versatile set, with
pinwheels, party umbrellas, candies and greetings - a set of 12 stamps.
Notice the cellophane bag on the sucker? You can find them in the Holiday Mini catalogue -
SO cute!
The photo corner punch has been retired, but I still love it and use it.

With summer approaching......here is an interesting article for preserving your garden memories.

Capturing and preserving the natural beauty of your garden can simply be done by creating a scrapbook and journal of your memories. Scrapbooking is a great way to preserve these memories and to share them with friends and family members for generations to come. There is no better feeling than to look back at these precious times and to be able enjoy their memorable moments.

Preserving flowers and plants from your garden can be done by drying or pressing them. They can be saved for years to come and can be used as embellishments in your scrapbooking and card making projects. It is a unique way to add your own personal touch and feelings to your crafts.

Small flowers and leaves can be pressed to make embellishments and larger flowers like sunflower pedals, or leaves can be dried and pressed to create a unique natural background for your scrapbook pages. Other plants like herbs can also be used to add accent when they are dried.

funky fold on the Open Sea

I decided to post one more card using the Open Sea stamp set.

Why? Because I LOVE this set! The theme has a breezy summer feeling, AND there are not many stamps out there that fill the bill for multiple occasions, and this one does. The coordinating designer series paper, Nautical Expedition and the Bakers Twine make it so easy to come up with a quick card! I saw a wonderful card similar to this design and changed it up using my own touches.

Thinking "out of the box" with designer series paper - a technique from my Technique Thursday class.
It's fairly easy and has amazing results!
I've used one of the very cool stamp sets from the Summer Mini Catalogue, The Open Sea
as well as the great coordinating designer paper. The Bakers Twine is a nice addition to
Stampin' Up!'s embellishments - great for finishing up a masculine card.

June is a busy month!

It's hard to believe that it is near the end of a month again! June is always such a busy time of year whether you have schoolage children involved in end of year activiites or you are readying your garden for summer. June is always a busy month in the world of Stampin' Up! The new Idea Book & Catalogue sales officially begin July 1st. Retired stamp sets and accessories are quickly being ordered before they are gone for good, and lists are being made for "must haves" from the new catalogue.
Recently, I hosted a baby shower for my nephew and niece in our home which kept us busy preparing for the event!
I wanted to show you the card I made for the new arrival. This is a retired Stampin' Up! set from a ways back, but I have kept it in my stash because it is so darn cute! Have a look.

I have paper pieced the little onsie and coloured in the lettering with a marker. When dry, I added
Crystal Effects to make the word cute "pop". The border beneath the card was created using the
new triple punch, Blossom Bouquet. Love this punch, it's so versatile! To make it even more
feminine I added some of the Basic Pearls to the centre of the blossoms.

Stampin' Up!'s new stamp set from the current mini catalogue, The Open Sea is perfect for a masculine birthday card or an upcoming Father's Day card. I've stamped one of the stamps from the set onto Whisper White cardstock for the background "paper". Using Cherry Cobbler cardstock I cut out a tag shape and punched a hole with the 3/4" & the 1/2" to run the Bakers Twine through. The Bakers Twine can be found in the mini catalogue. Next I stamped out the feature with Night Of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso inks. Cardstocks I used to layer are Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.
Happy Birthday is a greeting from the hostess set, After Thoughts.

LOVED watching the royal wedding ceremony at 3:00 AM this morning!

Will & Kate are SO cute together.

Her dress is amazing - so "romeo and juliet" - perfect.

There hasn't been so much excitement and partying since the 2010 olympics here in Vancouver.

Last night was our Technique Thursday class and in celebration of the royal wedding, I laid out a "tea" fit for a future king and queen!

I am really happy with the way this card turned out. I love the new embossing folder, Flower Garden which is available May 1st from the Summer Mini Catalgue. How I made those poppies stand out is I cut out a piece of Whisper White cardstock and inserted it into the embossing folder and then ran it through my Big Shot die cutting machine. Then I brayered on some Pear Pizazz classic ink, which really made the impression "pop". Love it! I tore the edge to give it some texture and sponged on a bit of the same colour ink . I layered that piece onto Pear Pizazz Designer Paper from the Patterns Stack.

Four Frames is a fabulous stamp set from the new Idea Book & Catalogue coming July 1st. This one coordinated with my polka dot paper, so I chose to use it, and added the greeting which is from last year's Saleabration, Vintage Labels. Isn't the pearl a cute addition? AND they are self adhesive - bonus!

Lastly I tied it up with Pear Pizazz Poly Stitched ribbon and adhered it to a Whisper White card base.

I've used the Four Frames stamp set on various projects lately - it coordinates with the Decorative Label punch!! So exciting!
This card design was originally on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator website to promote these new products.
The Marina Mist background is embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. The border punch - Scallop Trim Border - makes a mat of Pear Pizzaz cardstock for the designer paper.
Cut a piece of the Paisley Petals designer paper about 1 1/2" wide and trim the bottom to resemble a ribbon and adhere to the Pear Pizazz border. Using the Four Frames stamp set inked with Early Espresso, stamp onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock and punch out using the Decorative Label punch. Next, add a flower punched from the Boho Blossom punch. Insert a brad to hold all the flower layers together and add a Basic Pearl to the centre - gotta love those pearls!
For the greeting, stamp out Hello from Tiny Tags then punch out with the Tiny Label punch. Poke a hole with a paper piercer and thread through some
Linen Thread to attach to the flower.

Did you know that you can refill your Stampin' Up! Blender Pens?
I use my blender pens often, so I'm glad that they can be refilled so easily.
Here's how,

2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons glycerin
5 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon rubbing alcohol

Mix the above ingredients together in a small container.
Take a pair of tweezers and remove the tips from both ends of the blender pen. Be gentle,
so as to not ruin the tips.
Let the tips soak in the mixture for a couple of hours. Replace one of the tips, then fill the opposite end with some of the remaining mixture - I use an empty reinker bottle - then replace the remaining tip.

Always store your blender pens horizontally, so they won't dry out.

Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalogue has this wonderful stamp set called, Plane And Simple.
It's not often that I find a "guys" stamp that I love, but this one I do!
The "vintage look" of this set appeals to me and the fact that it comes with comes with so many
great pieces, even a compass which can be used in so many card themes and scrapbook pages.
I decided to add a bit more texture by using the Woodgrain background stamp inked in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock - these names make me crave a latte and a goodie - then I layered a piece of Newsprint designer series paper behind the main image.
The plane is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink twice. Once on the Naturals cardstock piece and again on a scrap. With my Paper Snips - love them for trimming detailed images - I cut out the stamped image, added some Dimensionals on the back to pop up the plane on top of the first stamped image.
The "banner" on the tail of the plane I made from a scrap piece of the same cardstock, the happy birthday greeting is from Plane And Simple as well.
The No.20 (cause he is ) is from a vintage retired Stampin' Up! set in my stash. The Antique Brad adds the final touch.

I love this card that my sister made using the Botanical Gazette designer paper from Stampin' Up!
She has used a portion of one of the sheets, cut it to size for a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card. Layered it onto
Crumb Cake cardstock, added some distressing with Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge.
The birthday greeting is from Perfect Punches (love that set), inked up with Chocolate Chip and
stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock. The she cleverly punched it out with the wide oval punch, and
popped it up with dimensionals for added wow!
Nice job!

My daughter takes transit to school and enjoys reading on the way there. She felt that some of the covers on her current series of books were a bit "racy", which got me thinking about the fabric covers we used to make for our paperbacks years ago.
I knew right away the fabric I would use - my Stampin' Up! Springtime Vintage fabric that I have been
saving for just the right project.
Notice the coordinating Big Springtime Vintage button on the front closure.
Love it!

I love nature walk!

Nature Walk has now become my utmost favourite stamp set! As demonstrators we received this set at
Stampin' Up! regionals in Vancouver, but you can have it too as it's available from the Occasions Mini catalogue until April 30th.
For these images I coloured the stamps with my Stampin' Write markers, "huffed" on them restore the moisture to the ink and stamped onto Confetti White cardstock. The confetti cardstocks are great with this set, they have a real handmade paper look to them.
I embossed the Early Espresso cardstock with the Perfect Details texture plate, exclusive to Stampin' Up! The wonderful bird from the set, I cut out and popped it up for a 3-d look using dimensionals.
I had so much fun adding embellishments to this card. Using Marina Mist seam binding for the ruffled ribbon at the side - I'm really into ruffles these days.

Then I picked out a Vanilla Rosette, and coloured it to match the ribbon, and placed a pearl in the centre - can you stand it ? Too cute!

I updated the collage for my Simply Adorned charm, and I love it!
If you haven't seen Stampin' Up!'s Simply Adorned line, check it out on page 189 of the Idea Book & Catalogue or go to my online store. There you will click on Products then Product Lines for details.
I decided to stamped Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake classic ink for the background using a new stamp from Stampin' Up!'s new Occasions Mini catalogue. You can find it on page 37, it's a single stamp called Pattern Pieces. Way too cute! I made the buttons - yes made! - by
using the coordinating Sweet Buttons embosslit on the opposite page and adding Crystal Effects laquer to the tops of them. Let them dry overnight and in the morning you've got these fabulous dimensional shiny buttons for embellishments. I chose to use a designer paper for my buttons, but you could also use cardstock.
Chantilly crochet trim - you will find it in the ribbon section of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue - adds a nice border to the collage.

You still have time to whip up a card for Valentines Day!
As promised, here is another of mine to inspire you.
The base of this card is actually one from our last Technique Thursday class. All I have done is added the cute little girl from Greeting Card Kids and a valentine greeting.
For those who were not at the class we stamped with a background stamp, "debossed" the background image with Elegant Lines embossing folder, then brought out the debossing with sponged-on inks.
Notice the dress and hair bow on the girl is paper pieced. Very cute. If you would like a tutorial on paper piecing let me know!
I've coloured in the rest of the image using my Classic inks and an Aqua Painter brush.
She is actually a digital image, printed out on cardstock, coloured, paper pieced, then applied to the card. Greeting Card Kids is also available in a rubber stamp set.
The greeting is the same as I have used on this morning's post - also digital.
And, last I wrapped it up with Cherry Cobbler seam binding.

last minute valentine inspiration!

Here are a couple of cards I delivered for Valentines Day. The first one has a Red Riding Hood card base, layered with Very Vanilla which I ran through my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I've punched out 4 squares of Love Letter designer paper with a
1 3/8" square punch, then adhered the squares to a larger square of the Red Riding Hood
cardstock measuring 3 1/4" x 3 1/4". The wonderfully glittery heart is punched from the Glimmer paper found in your Occasions mini catalogue p. 7 - the punch is the Full Heart punch - LOVE IT! Pop the heart up with a couple of Dimensionals for extra wow!
For the greeting I chose Be My Valentine, a digital image from My Digital Studio.
I printed out the image several times on Very Vanilla cardstock, and then trimmed out the greeting to use on my cards. Very fun and easy to do!
Last I adhered the greeting on a scrap of Red Riding Hood cardstock again with dimensionals, used my 1/2" circle punch to add interest to the corners,then applied 2 silver brads.
If you don't have these materials on hand, then use my card as a "sketch" and use what you have! Have fun and check back later for the next card......

I love the way this paper rosette turned out!
Super demo Kimberley Van Diepen has a tutorial on how to create these. I've used a combination of different designer papers, some of the vintage lace ribbon plus the new red glitter paper from the Occasions mini catalogue. "Armour" and the vintage key image are from the Artistic Etchings stamp set. The embellishments are the stick-on pearls (love them) , vintage safety pin and black brad.
Definitely making more of these!

Stampin' Up!'s Letterpress plate Lots Of Love brings to me memories of the heart-shaped conversation candies that got their start in 1902.
In the 1990s, the manufacturer wanted to update some of the sayings and retire others, including "Call me","Email me", and "Fax me". Apparently the candy producer receives hundreds of suggestions a year on new sayings. They produce the hearts from late February through mid January of the following year. Approximately 100,000 pounds of hearts are made per day, which sells out in about six weeks!

Much like the famous candies the Letterpress plate gives a "debossed" look to your cardstock when run through the Big Shot. My favourite technique to use with the Letterpress plate is to ink the plate with Versarmark clear ink before running it through the Big Shot. What this does is highlight the "debossed" look, making it much more visible.
In this cute vintage-look valentine I've also used digital downloads, Greeting Card Kids and Be My Valentine from My Digital Studio. The little girls dress is paper pieced using the new designer paper from the Occasions mini catalogue, Springtime Vintage. I've used my Classic inks and watercolour brush to colour in the image.

3 x 3 Armour card from Stampin' Up!

1. Fold Basic Black card stock (3" x 6") in half to form card.
2. Create distressed look by using More Mustard ink pad to on edges of Newsprint Designer Series paper (2-3/4" x 2-3/4") and curling up corners. Adhere to front of card.
3. Stamp medallion image in More Mustard ink, and crown image and sentiment in Basic Black ink on Newsprint Designer Series paper (3" x 3"). Tear two edges and distress with More Mustard stamp pad.
4. Use Scallop Trim Border punch on More Mustard textured card stock (1" x 2"). Adhere to torn piece of Newsprint Designer Series paper.
5. Coat brad in Dazzling Diamond Stampin’ Glitter and attach to crown image.
6. Adhere torn piece of Newsprint Designer Series paper to front of card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

in Gold Glow - easy and very impressive!
The bow is the new 1/2" seam binding ribbon in Cherry Cobler - easy to tie into bows.
You may recognize the Shimmer Brads from the Holiday mini. I won't lie, this card takes a bit of
time to create but it IS worth it when finished! You could use any patterned paper for any occasion for this card - try it and have fun!

deck the halls quilted ornament

This quilted ornament was SO fun to make!
There is no sewing required as it is put together with pins.
There are many tutorials on the internet for these, so I
won't go into the how-to here.
I've used Stampin' Up! Designer fabric in Deck The Halls (121716) along with 1/8" taffeta ribbon in Real Red (119251) and a Big Designer Button (121002) from the Deck The Halls assortment on top.
LOVE IT!

Everything about this card makes me smile! I love the Jolly Old Saint Nick (121711) and the colours of the Candy Cane designer paper (120809), Garden Green, Baja Breeze, Blushing Bride and Real Red. A combo I'm not sure that I would have thought of, but the Stampin' Up! designers did and they have a winner!
The Big Designer Button (121718) is from the Candy Cane collection, with 3/8" Real Red Taffeta ribbon (119763) added.
I've added a bit of trim with Garden Green cardstock (102584) punched out with the Scallop Edge Border punch (119882).
By the way, the fabric in the photo is the NEW designer fabric from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Mini catalogue - Candy Cane Christmas (121715).
I think that you are probably getting the idea of how all these products match! SO FUN!

Is this not CUTE! I saw this sketch and changed it up a bit by adding the "snow globe".
I've used a Sweet Treat Cup (116802) for the globe! Here's how.
Stamp out Sweet Snowglobe (120868) with Cherry Cobbler Classic ink (119669) twice.
Trim one of the bases off the snow globe and set aside. In a 3"x 3 1/2" piece of Candy Cane designer paper (120809), punch a circle with 1 3/4" Circle punch (119850). While you have the punch out,
also punch out the globe from the stamped image and set aside. What I did next was to colour and cut out the little images from the second stamped snowglobe, pop them up with dimensionals (104430) and adhere them onto the globe that you have set aside. Then you will need to adhere the globe to a larger piece of cardstock, about 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" so that it will sit behind the treat cup and not fall through.
Take the Sweet Treat Cup and peel off the adhesive backing. Now add some Dazzling Diamonds (102023) for the "snow".
Here comes the tricky part! While holding the treat cup full of snow adhere the globe to the back of the treat cup making sure that it sits the way you would like it to. Phew!
Next you will poke it through the hole you punched in the cardstock/designer paper and add the base you set aside earlier.
The rest of the card is a piece of cake, just add some designer paper cut into blocks. The snowflake is the XL Snowflake punch (119852) with a Candy Cane Big Button (121718) set ontop, and a bit of Linen Thread (104199) as a finishing touch.

This technique is called "debossing", isn't it amazing?
At our last technique class we created this card using Stampin' Up!'s XL Ornament punch (119847),
Square Lattice embossing folder (119976, one of my favourite stamp sets Lovely As A Tree (115026) and Deck The Halls designer paper (120810). You assemble the card THEN you insert it into the embossing folder and run it through the Big Shot, and it comes out looking like this! Love it!

I've used the new Stampin' Up! designer fabric, Candy Cane Christmas for
this cute wine carrier. The buttons are adorable too!! Big Designer Buttons come in a pack of 48, 4 each of 3 designs in 4 colours. AND, they coordinate with the Candy Cane Christmas fabric and designer paper!
For the handle I chose to use the 1 3/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon.

I love this guy! He is just like Frosty the snowman I remember as a kid. This stamp set is named Jolly Old Saint Nick and contains 6 images which are equally nostalgic!

The Charming stamp set, along with rub-ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments help you create your unique charm insert. The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. It's Monday ! Last week I announced that I would be sharing a holiday gift for subscribers of my monthly newsletter. Well, beginning Wednesday I will be starting my 12 Weeks of Christmas campaign as a free gift for my mailing list subscribers! My Digital Studio (MDS) is the best! I love Stampin' Up!'s digital papercrafting software.
I'm snuggled up in my armchair with my computer, creating scrapbook pages - how much better can you get?
My husband and I, plus the dogs headed down south to Portland, Oregon for the ABFM at the beginning of the month. I wanted to scrapbook some of the many photos I took at the meet. Without making a trip down to my studio, I whipped up two pages in no time at all. With all that is going on in the photos, I decided to keep my layout simple. I think they turned out great!

If you are looking for an idea to use your "Beautiful Wings" embosslit die, here is a fabulous one!
A few of the new "Jewels" half-back rhinestones were added for extra bling! The "Square Lattice" embossing folder makes a nice border on the bottom. Look at the colour of the "Marina Mist" 5/8"
satin ribbon - so luxurious!

Here is my swap - I've stamped this great single stamp "Ornate Blossom" with Chocolate Chip Classic ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Stunning! The Designer Paper co-ordinates with this stamp - do I love Stampin' Up!!!

The feeling of autumn is certainly in the air! Summer was awesome but I'm feeling like the kids, ready to get back to classes. I participated in a swap with my fellow demonstrators this month. Wow!

Our niece was recently married in Hawaii, so when I saw this wonderful punch art card idea I new that I had to make it for her and her new hubby.
I find Punch Art very intriguing. How each artist can "see" beyond the basic shape of the punch, and create something totally different with it, amazes me.
These cute flamingos are created using Stampin' Up!'s Two Step Bird XL punch. If you look closely you will see the body of the flamingo is actually a bird in itself.
The legs and necks are the branch with the leaves trimmed from them. The head and the beak are made using the wing, and trimming it down to the right shape.
Wow.....
One last thing, time is running out to order from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

How cute is this two step card? VERY cute!
I made this for a special friend of mine I'm going to visit - I think she's going to want to know how to make it, so I'm taking the supplies with me.
For the card base I chose Whisper White, the designer paper is now retired but it is from the 6x6 pad available during Sale-a-bration. The stamp set is one of my fav's Bundle Of Joy, it's a great one to watercolour with your Aqua Painter and re-inkers.

This is going to be a short post, as I'm still packing!
